Can you reproduce the problem with XSane or is it specific to
Skanlite/Skanpage.
Anyhow, I'm afraid this is a bug in the backend and a bit out of
Skanlite/libksane/KSaneCore's hands.
Looks like the utsushi backend is maintained at
https://gitlab.com/utsushi/utsushi
Can you make a bug report there?
