Here is the backtrace. Sorry for the huge delay in my response. I did backup
the database to another location and reloaded digikam and it was able to start
correctly and recreate the database.
$ ./digikam-5.5.

When it crash, GDB give a prompt. Do not quit with 'q', but enter "bt" to get
the backtrace

Ran with 5.6 and it also crashes on startup.
