OK I will try 7.7.0.
I don’t know how to recreate the problem, but Mariadb came up with the same
message when I deleted what I thought were the log files.

If Showfoto hang at start up, well it's not a database problem, as Showfoto do
not manage a database.
If digiKam database is locked, it's a side-effect.

I don't know if it is a coincidence, but Showfoto also hangs if it is opened
whilst digikam is in this state.
Also Task Manager is showing 0% CPU use for digikam.
