Thanks for the link.
I don't know what I did exactly but now it's working, I was messing around with
the location of the xmp files, that might be the reason for the problem.
The information was changing on the left sidebar

Yes, that's intentional, the left sidebar only shows the information of the
left image and the right sidebar that of the right image. Regardless of which
image you click on.
