Yes, that's exactly what I wanted to achieve.
So the subsequent filtering doesn't work then? Then I have to copy the
image files to be ignored into a folder that digiKam ignores.

does not offer me any of the self-created filters, only predefined ones I

The last image in comment 9 is correct. Now you just have to select your filter
in the status bar in the ComboBox in the import view.

Please try again, also use a newer digiKam version, there were some bug fixes
in 8.0.0 regarding the import filters. There may have been further bug fixes
later. Add the filter with “+ Add”.
