I'm not totally clear on what you're asking for, but I think you want the
desktop view to be consistent with ~/Desktop. You can adjust the desktop
settings appropriately to make them iodentical by right-clicking on the
desktop: right-click on Desktop > Configure Desktop > Icons > adjust stuff
