            Bug ID: 461254
Summary: There are a few bugs and a lack of controls.
    Classification: Applications
           Product: kate
           Version: 22.08.2
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kwrite
          Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: wrogerwro...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

1. The recently used files list has loaded up and when deleted / emptied, it
remails filled up, the next time it is opened.

1. a) The recently used files list needs to be EXPANDABLE - from 10, to 25, 50
and 100 recently used files.

2. There is no way to set it from the "bearded wierdo's in the basement"
default save directory, into the directory of choice.
This is just plain dumb and a change is needed.

3. I use it to write all my notes in - and documents etc., copy paste / attend
to later etc., because it saves everything without formatting as plain text -
while it's not super brilliant as a document / web page content formatter etc.,
it does strip out all the code and it's ideal for paragraphs and comments for
use in other documents, and for shopping lists that can be copied to my phone -
the "plain.txt" files run on everything and are easy to format, and copy and
past into and out of.

But there is no text (*.txt) default saving function - by choice.

Part of my shopping list.

"Things to get at Kmart"

Kmart

Grey fitness mat 43136742 $9.50
self guided fitness mat 43171767 (no stink) $10.00

folding fitness mat 42259817 $26.00
4 pack eva floor tiles charcoal 41373262 $14.00

You have no idea how good plain text files are on a moble phone... Got it,
delete - Got it, delete / Been there - delete, Been there - delete.

4. It would be good to have the "Borders" and other functions, set so they can
be switched on and off permanently - rather than on a session by session basis.

Sometimes some people have good ideas, but when many functions are on, and they
have to be kept turning off, every time you use the product, then the question
arises, "WHY isn't there a choice between ALWAYS ON, and manually having to
switch everything off, every time.?"
