Fade-out not working after dimming the Brightness

SUMMARY
Never had to report a bug quite until today, but I'm sure this is NOT intended
behaviour.

NATURE OF BUG
Involves the Fade-out and Brightness effects. If the Brightness effect is not
present or left at default settings, Fade-out works as intended. However, if
Brightness is edited in ANY way, shape, or form, the Fade-out effect ceases to
function.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Drag a video clip onto the timeline
2. Apply Fade-out and Brightness effect
3. Edit Brightness settings (primarily 'Intensity')

OBSERVED RESULT
Fade-out fails to occur as intended when Brightness settings are edited.

EXPECTED RESULT
Fade-out effect occurs as normal regardless of changes made to Brightness.
