You can try using the environment variable WAYLAND_DEBUG to get more output.
But I fear the problem is somewhere else in the stack.

This BUG does also affect "new windows" in general ... if they dont show up i
can mostly close them with Alt+F4 , restarting plasmashell .. and then mostly
it returns to expected behaviour ..
