           Product: kwin
           Version: 5.15.4
          Platform: Neon Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: wayland-generic

Watch the sky

At the moment default color format for new wayland clients is something like
565 - 16 bit clolor. If the client does not change it, then this format will be
used for all rendering. Qt apps usually do not change it. This results for
severe color banding, especially in videos. Good example is this video when
wached in Falkon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bey4XXJAqS8 At the same time
Firefox running in Xwayland has no color banding.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bey4XXJAqS8 in Falkon runing as native
Wayland client
2. Open same video in Firefox runing as X11 client
3. Compare color banding on frames with big gradients

OBSERVED RESULT
Falkon has severe color banding

EXPECTED RESULT
Videos look the same in bouth browsers
