Bug ID: 413396 Summary: kwin_wayland crash when displays turned back on Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: platform-wayland Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: t...@r.je Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 123458 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=123458&action=edit journal from previous boot SUMMARY The system freezes when displays are turned off then back on. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Allow KDE to turn off the screen using power management ( Energy Saving > enable "Screen energy saving" ) 2. Wait for the screen to turn off 3. Press a key to bring the screens back on OBSERVED RESULT The screens turn back on but I see the output of systemd with "reached graphical target". The system is completely frozen and I can't even switch TTY. EXPECTED RESULT The screens should come back on and display the desktop. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.63.0 Qt Version: 5.13.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I'm using two monitors with a radeon VII and the AMDGPU driver. It works as expected in Xorg, it's only kwin_wayland that's affected. I've attached my journal from the previous boot, it looks like the crash may actually happen when the screens turn off, not when they come back on. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
