Just want to re-confirm that it is related to plasmashell and wayland.
Installation works fine with X11, no crashes of plasmashell.

installed the packages, reboot and started the debugging with the command you
provided and got the following results (incl. after entering 'c' + 'RET':
sudo gdb -pid `pidof plasmashell`
