            Bug ID: 432294
Summary: Numlock is disabled by default on startup
           Product: neon
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

NumLock is disabled by default on KDE Neon after startup.

I have set the preference to have Numlock turned on when Plasma starts but it's
apparently not working.

I'm aware of bug 368063, however i'm making this one because my main complaint
is about the default behavior, not about having the option working or not.

It's important to have it enabled by default while booting because many people
use numbers as their password. It's specially true from users coming from
Windows, as Microsoft encourages the use of a numeric PIN for logging in and
thus migrating users are likely to have a password with numbers, and not only
that, but I'm not aware of any downsides of having it turned on by default, so
I believe it should be enabled on boot so you can type a numeric password on
the login screen without having to press numlock everytime.

Sorry if this has already been reported.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Install and boot KDE Neon.

OBSERVED RESULT

On login the numlock button will be disabled by default, and the users will
need to first press the numlock button to them be able to type numbers using
the numberpad.

EXPECTED RESULT

Numlock should be enabled after boot to make it easy to type numeric passwords
on the login screen.
