I fully agree that Neon should drop the LTS distro base. Neon is itself a
franken-distro, which is part of the reason why it unfortunately breaks so

Oops, actually I meant to recommend Kubuntu 23.04. It's not an LTS release, but
it has Plasma 5.27 in it.
Personally I don't recommend sticking with LTS releases. In my opinion they

5.16.4 is OK, but 5.17.4 is very slow.
It seems that, in 5.17.4, the wallpaper plugin will check every image before
desktop is usable, so, if there has many many images, this procedure will be
