I asked because I can't reproduce the issue when I toggle grouping like that,
so a screen recording if you reproducing the issue would be helpful.
You should be able to use the Peek, SimpleScreenRecorder, or OBS

There's apparently only one way left with text taskbar: right-button select the
program -> more -> allow this program to be grouped.
