Bug ID: 478628 Summary: Plasmashell segfaults when trying to remove the Kicker (application menu) widget from the desktop Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 5.90.0 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Application Menu (Kicker) Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: adam.m.fontenot+...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 164241 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=164241&action=edit backtrace SUMMARY I added the application menu to my desktop itself (*not* a panel). Removing it crashes plasmashell. Trying to remove any other widget that I've tested (including Kickoff) does not crash plasmashell. For some reason plasmashell seems to crash "harder" than normal. Usually when I've seen a crash the desktop background doesn't disappear and the panel comes back after a couple seconds. In this case, the crash handler appears immediately but the background stays black for 5+ seconds. Backtrace attached. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add a kicker widget to your desktop. Should appear as a large button. Click it to make sure it works. (No issues for me.) 2. Right click the widget and select "remove application menu". SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.90.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.246.0 Qt Version: 6.6.1 Kernel Version: 6.6.6-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland ADDITIONAL INFO If anyone wants to tell me how to remove a widget from the desktop manually that would be cool of you :-) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
