SUMMARY
I added the application menu to my desktop itself (*not* a panel). Removing it
crashes plasmashell. Trying to remove any other widget that I've tested
(including Kickoff) does not crash plasmashell.

For some reason plasmashell seems to crash "harder" than normal. Usually when
I've seen a crash the desktop background doesn't disappear and the panel comes
back after a couple seconds. In this case, the crash handler appears
immediately but the background stays black for 5+ seconds.

Backtrace attached.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a kicker widget to your desktop. Should appear as a large button. Click
it to make sure it works. (No issues for me.)
2. Right click the widget and select "remove application menu".

ADDITIONAL INFO

If anyone wants to tell me how to remove a widget from the desktop manually
that would be cool of you :-)
