Operations reports can be organized by month and week, among others.
It would be nice to be able to organize them by calendar and fiscal year as
well.

[systemsettings] [Bug 419494] "Identify" feature does not work properly with identically-named displays

2022-11-06 Thread Grady
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419494

I attached a mockup of what I'm referring to, this would be a purely GUI thing,
would have zero impact on system settings or the actual stored names of the
monitors, just an additional text label in the GUI next to each monitor's name,
with a number. If you like for visual pleasantness, could make the numbers
based on the monitor positions sorted from left to right and top to bottom.

Even better would be patches that add the missing feature.

Right that's what I mean, this wouldn't be for the screen settings or impact
the plasma widgets.

I mean just using the numbers purely 100% as just a minor visual adjustment of
the GUI of the display settings, just literally adding a number to the names of
the monitors in the dropdown UI component and using that name for the displayed
monitor name on screen.

So that would have no impact on screen settings, shouldn't that be possible?

These entries should not show up in KRunner.

Also, the ordering seems a bit messed up, because IMHO the recent file should
not take presence over the command line/app results.

Git commit abd304cd96e5be6f95c40d6c7812724ab3188037 by Nate Graham.
Committed on 07/11/2022 at 00:50.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

Sync header and footer separator code to SimpleKCM

AbstractKCM has complex logic to add separator lines at the top and
bottom of the page, based on the presence or absence of headers and
footers and the potential need for extra spacing on the bottom of KCMs
that have no footer and System Settings will show at least one of its
own footer buttons.

However SimpleKCM lacks much of this logic, despite having the same needs.
Instead, it has simpler logic to naïvely draw separator lines with no
provision for extra spacing. As a result, KCMs that use SimpleKCM and
become scrollable have insufficient bottom padding between the System
Settings-provided buttons and the KCM-provided separator line.

This commits syncs the code and API from AbstractKCM to SimpleKCM so
that the issues solved there are solved here too.

Code is copied rather than refactoring SimpleKCM to be based on
AbstractKCM because the trigger conditions are subtly different, we
can't add the typical padding to avoid regressions KInfoCenter's
CommandOutputKCM (see diff; we can fix this only in KF6). Such a
refactor is a separate challenge that can be undertaken later in KF6
times.

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

SUMMARY
When I send an email, often a copy of it stays in outbox, even if is correctly
saved into whatever was specified as sent-mail for that email. The email
arrives at the recipient, so it is actually sent.
Of course it is much better to have two copies than none... but checking and
deleting is getting tedious.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. I haven't yet found the conditions under which it occurs. My suspicion is
that it has something to do with whether the sending transport password is
available, however it also occurs after a new login with sending though local
sendmail. Does anyone have suggestions for what to check for?

OBSERVED RESULT
Sent mail is stored in the sent-mail folder as well as being left in the outbox
folder.

EXPECTED RESULT
Sent mail is stored in the sent-mail folder only.

[systemsettings] [Bug 461525] New: Add ability to filter fonts in font selector

2022-11-06 Thread ariasuni
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=461525

Bug ID: 461525
Summary: Add ability to filter fonts in font selector
Classification: Applications
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.26.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_fonts
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: pe...@hack-libre.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
It would nice to be able to filter fonts in the font selector. Currently, it’s
hard to find a font, especially since the Noto Fonts, required by Plasma, add
dozens of fonts in the selector. It seems it’s the same font selector in
Konsole, for which it would be nice to have that as well.

Since one the main use case I can think of for this font selector is to switch
to a newly installed font, it would be much more practical to be able to type
the first few letters of a font to get it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open font KCM
2. Open the font selector

OBSERVED RESULT
See hundred of Noto fonts and inability to filter fonts

EXPECTED RESULT
Being able to filter fonts, via a filter bar.

This is not a bug in Krita, clipboard data is correct. it is the receiving
program to handle the data in the clipboard correctly: in this case MS Paint
and Notion does not support alpha channel and they simply do not read it. Try
this in any software that supports alpha channel and the paste will be correct.

Before copying prepare the image: duplicate and merge the duplicate layers to
remove all alpha information, then select all and paste.

1. I am using a 12GB Nvidia RTX 3080 with the driver built from the
akmod-nvidia 520.56.06 package from the fedora rpmfusion repositories.
2. I was using the Breeze Global Theme, but I also tried the Breeze Dark Global
theme, and now I have switched over to the Utterly Nord Light Global theme and
all of them exhibit the issue. I am also using the Breeze Light plasma style as
both the Breeze and Fedora Thirty-six style follow the colour theme. The colour
issue I have sent the screenshots for also happens with the both the Nord light
and Nord dark global themes.
3. I am on X11 as I've found that KDE still does not work properly with
Wayland.
3a. It does change in that the taskbar background stays white, but the icons on
the taskbar are no longer transparent and show their full colours. (This is
using the opaque option).
4. I don't use the floating panel feature, I only use the hiding feature, but I
did try the floating panel feature once and it made no difference.
5. I tried those options and none of them made any difference. I am running
with the opaque option at the moment.

Since this bug report ended up being modified to be about the bug "Bottom
Plasma panel and desktop are not fully adjacent to screen border (1 pixel on
the right and bottom) when PLASMA_USE_QT_SCALING=1 is set on X11", I'm closing
this again to move the discussion to the new 461473 that has the correct title;
you...@live.de please refer to that bug instead of this one.

Hey there,

I tested a few things and I noticed that all my text looks broken, when I
disable font smoothing (disabling anti-aliasing).
Might it be that it's not applied everywhere for some reason on my system?

[dolphin] [Bug 461524] New: "Open containing folder" actions do not work if parent folder is already open

2022-11-06 Thread Naxdy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=461524

Bug ID: 461524
Summary: "Open containing folder" actions do not work if parent
folder is already open
Classification: Applications
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 22.08.3
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: xna...@hydra-development.net
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
(this is on X11, not tested on Wayland)

When using the "open containing folder" action from a different program (tested
with VSCodium, Jetbrains IDEs, and Firefox' download notification), the action
only succeeds if none of the parent folders are currently opened within
dolphin, else whichever parent folder is opened will be focused instead.

In other words, "open containing folder" on any file or folder within the
directory /home/naxdy/git/some_project will only succeed properly if none of
the upper level folders are opened within dolphin.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open dolphin and point to /home/[user]
2. Download a file in Firefox (e.g. the HTML of this page)
3. Upon download, select "open containing folder" from the navigation's burger
menu

OBSERVED RESULT
Dolphin focuses, and if there are multiple tabs, the tab pointing to
/home/[user] will focus, but the containing folder (/home/[user]/Downloads) is
not opened.

EXPECTED RESULT
Dolphin focuses and a new tab is created, pointing to /home/[user]/Downloads

The problem has already been reported, DXO saves wrong coordinates in XMP.
digiKam reads XMP first for various reasons.

[digikam] [Bug 461522] New: Geo Localisation differs between two jpg-Files

2022-11-06 Thread Michael Hähnel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=461522

Bug ID: 461522
Summary: Geo Localisation differs between two jpg-Files
Classification: Applications
   Product: digikam
   Version: 7.8.0
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Geolocation-Engine
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: m.haeh...@gmx.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

GPS position for RAW file or jpg-out-of-cam is different from processed jpg
from RAW file.
Detail: I shoot with Olympus OM-D EM-5 in raw format (and jpg), process the raw
file in DxO with output to jpg. If I select raw and processed jpg DigiKam geo
localisation windows displays differen coordinates hence different postion on
map.

If I display both files (raw and processed jpg) in Windows Photo app or with
app GPSprune, the GPS coordinates and displayed position values are
identically. I compared the read out of GPS values with exiftool.exe: identic
values for all files.
As other programs display the correct position, I assume the problem is within
DigiKam. If you need example files please let me know how to submit as I can
not attach to this ticket (file size exceeds limit)

Coordinate readings from Digikam:
from raw orf: geo:52.468947,12.876366,0
from jpg ooc: geo:52.468947,12.876366,0
from jpg dxo: geo:52.47,12.87 <=== wrong values

Coordinate readings from exiftools (same with other programs)
for all files:
GPSLatitude : 52.468946667
GPSLongitude: 12.87636

For Nikon files processed with DxO there is no problem. Don't know of other
cameras.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. check attached example files
2. select from digikam and open geo localisation window
3. you find .orf at correct position but .jpg at different position.

OBSERVED RESULT
differend GPS position in value column and different position on map.

EXPECTED RESULT
should be same values/position for all files
