Hello folks, we are still very low on mentors (only 11 have signed up so
far) and tasks: about 45 at last glance.
Please get with your teams and find some more mentors, and get creative
with some tasks. Assign writing some unit tests! Get some bug reports
tested! Help kids get your application
Hello
I am Mahesh S Nair, I was working with Google Summer Of Code 2018 with KDE,
I would like to mentor a project for the upcoming Google Code In with KDE.
I have few upgrades for Peruse.I will update the task list soon enough.
Cheers
HI everyone,
GCi is around the corner and it is high time that we formulate a good
amount of tasks with assigned mentors to look after them. We only have 15
mentors right now and it would be great if few others in the community
could chip in as well.
Almost around 13 hours to go until the org
Hello folks, GCi is much earlier this year, so we need to gather tasks NOW.
The org application period is now open, and I see a good start on tasks on
https://community.kde.org/GCi. However, they are all from GCompris!
Please look over their tasks and copy some for your own project!

Hi,
I apologise for the the delay. I'm available for mentoring too. I can help
the students setting things up, finding their way around KDE, programming
and similar concepts. I'd hate to see GCI not happening this time around
for KDE and students missings an awesome opportunity.

Aditya
Hi,
Kopete has tasks that can be done by GCI candidates.
Yes, people are busy. Other new members of KDE should take the initiatives
for their projects and participate to mentor GCI students. It's a great way
to get potential enthusiastic contributors for your projects.
It takes effort to be
forgot to add copy to kde-community list...

If that is the case ("design tasks" is ok), count me in.

Hi Valorie,
I feel sorry to hear that.
I could give it a try on the mentorship. I just don't know if I'm good
enough to fill the purpose.
Cheers

We don't need one mentor though, we need up to 50, and probably 400
tasks by January. We also need admins, and tasks NOW.
Thanks for offering, and of course you are good enough! -v

Hello folks, when I've written about GCi before this, I got few to no
replies. My feeling is that previous enthusiastic mentors are without
the energy and time to participate this year.
Org applications are open, but unless I hear a swell of enthusiasm
here, I'm inclined to not apply.
Thoughts?
, please subscribe to
KDE-Soc-Mentor and ping one of the admins about that. We especially
welcome all GSoC students to mentor some tasks for GCi!

I've just finished preparing the new Ideas page for 2017:
https://community.kde.org/GSoC/2017/Ideas
It is basically the same as every other year, and has no previous
ideas on it. If you or your project plan to present a former idea
again, click on the 2016 Ideas link, and copy/paste it into the

Hey folks :)
KDE is applying for Google Code-in again. We need a good number of
tasks in the next days in order to make a good application. If you
have some great tasks young people could work on over the next weeks
and you can mentor them a bit please add them.
Cheers

The application period for GCi is open, but we do not have enough
tasks yet to apply.

Sure! Could you handle feedback for all three? ;)

Hmm a tough question indeed :/ If I had to choose, I'll go with Desktop. If
you think the Desktop HIG is too limited to windowed apps with toolbars
etc, then we might have to drop the idea.
