I'm pretty much concerned about status of automounting in KDE. When set
to automount in system settings (hardware > removable devices >
"automatically mount removable media at login"), in the history of KDE
4, it has never mounted automatically.

as far as I can see, automounting is not included in KDE by design.
Every interaction with newly added devices happens through the device
notifier, which will mount the device when the user starts to interact
with the device. Alternatively, the device appears in the places list
of the KFileDia

appears in Places, and clicking on it mounts it and displays the
