Hi,
I cannot get Amarok, or any other phonon-based player, to play MP3s. Amarok
declares that Phonon claims it *cannot* play MP3 files. You may want to
examine the installation that phonon uses. Ogg files play without a
problem and VLC media player can play MP3 files.
I have the
SVN commit 8424 by avilla:
- Add NO_BUILD=yes to fix build (make is executed, but there is no
Makefile).
- Do not redefine DISTNAME.

Hi,
I don't have amarok installed, but Dragon Player plays mp3s for me just fine.
I have Phonon using the gstreamer backend on kde-4.8.4 with up-to-date ports.
(FreeBSD 9.0-RELEASE i386).
Have you tried forcing a re-install of all the gstreamer stuff?

The problem mentioned in latest commit was not solved by NO_BUILD: it
required USE_CMAKE to be set. KDE4_BUILDENV does that (and has to be
used in KDE SC porta, anyways).
