Hm, difficult to say at this time. I'm not seeing any out-of-mem error,
but heavy swapping, making the system unusable.

This turns out to become even more strange with every turn: seems like
I've managed to create some kind of killer project, albeit in a very
literal sense when it comes to Kdenlive. I've noticed that loading the
small project now takes very long, eats RAM like crazy ... which turns
out to be
So, the 17.08.3 AppImage doesn't eat memory like mad, but then it does
not load pngs; neither ones created with gimp, nor inkscape, nor its own
extracted png frames.
Someone an idea of a working Kdenlive AppImage version to try that

Hello, kdenlive Team!
First, I would like to congratulate you all on your work creating the
best (in my opinion) opensource Linux video editor to date. I am an

on its own
So I tried to install from kdenlive ppa stable on Kubuntu 17.10: same RAM issue
as with appimage, 10G eaten for the nearly empty project. Adding a clip to the
timeline send my 16G into burning trashing hell. Now that is really bad with a
project in the pipeline...!
Best regards,Harald
Hi,
anybody else seeing an incredibly high memory consumption? Kdenlive
AppImage 17.12.0d. Empty Kdenlive uses roughly 0.3G RAM, fine.
Loading FullHD 25fps project with three real video mp4 files, recorded
at 25mbit/s, and two screencast .mp4 recordings: now 10G of RAM
allocated to
