I've tried several times to update the cvs sources (as well as the piave
sources) in the past few days, but still got a "Connection timed out" error
from sourceforge ... but ... the update of other projects (e.g. modesto)
hosted on sourceforge works fine!?!

I found a crash bug after I committed last week; if you dragged two effects
onto a clip and then selected them in the effect parameter dialog, returning
to an effect you had already selected would crash the program.
Now fixed in cvs. I hope to get some more work done on the effect framework
