I just subscribed to my gmail spam folder and deleted 475 emails.
I did not get a crash. With previous versions I could get it to crash within 5
or 10 email deletions.

easily be reproduces with a new user account (or a removed kmailrc).

Jepp, it wasn't easy but I just managed to crash KMail 4.2.98 by randomly
deleting mails from my Spam folder:

Sorry, I had this just yesterday using 4.2.98. I opened the inbox on an IMAP
account, typed a search term in the search bar, selected all the messages and
then hit 'delete'. KMail crashed.
