Thank you Dan, that was the problem. Perhaps the read only status should be
more apparent and should not default to read only. It should also be able to
be changed from within Kontact and not need the Akonadi

I'll confirm this bug. This has been a problem for quite some time now.
The 'Move to This Folder' and/or 'Copy to This Folder' options when you right
click on a local or IMAP sub folder is also missing. There appears to be no
way in KMail to either

Since upgrading to Kubuntu 11.10 (KMail 4.7.2) I haven't noticed it not
notifying me when new mail comes in. My laptop is usually close by me most of

I improved it in 4.8 but not easy to fix all pb with notification.

Is anyone even listening? This problem still exists in KMail 4.7. What's even
worse is that the menu choices are no longer grayed out but HAVE BEEN REMOVED
ALTOGETHER as has the option to copy or move to the top level folder.
