Sure, it's very valid :) Kmail still doesn't remember the main window state,
e.g. as amarok does, so if I closed it when it was minimized to the system tray
amarok will remember that and next time

gmail-plasmoid, which does check with a timer your gmail account, and by

Unless you are proposing to do what amarok does, to minimize to systemtray and
not be shown in the taskbar, unless the icon in the systemtray is pressed.
