Now, since the update to KDE + PIM 4.9 the problem seems to have been resolved!
And I didn't delete any config file since the last tests to do anything about
it. Maybe someone else could confirm

Correcting above post, disabling the smaller LVDS panel helps when working on
the big screen.
However, I was now able to reproduce the behaviour during mobile use too.

Disabling the LVDS panel on my system makes the bug go away. That's no viable
workaround though.
