Summary: Closing a composer window or sending makes the main window grab the focus Product: kmail Version: 1.13.3 Platform: Debian unstable OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: mich...@schuerig.de Version: 1.13.3 (using KDE 4.4.4) OS: Linux When I write a message and send it or just close the composer window, this makes the main window grab the focus even if there are other windows in front of it. When writing a message, I often refer to web pages or other documents. Then, after I have sent the message, I close the documents I no longer need. Sending closes the composer window and the document window directly behind it becomes the front window. As I no longer need that document, I habitually press Ctrl-Q with the intention of closing it. -- Contrary to my intention, KMail, whose main window has grabbed the focus, receives the keypress and quits. I know about this (mis)behavior. I know that there's a difference between front window and focussed window. Even my window title bar is styled to make this distinction very obvious. It doesn't help. Knowing about the trap doesn't save me from falling into it again and again. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: Leave the focus alone and let KWin pass the focus to the front window.
