Oh, and there was actually a bug if the wallet was completely disabled in the
system settings, as opposed to POP3 being denied acce

yes and no.
They are the partially the same as I don't want to have kwallet.
BUT they differ as POP3 is unusable at all:
The password field gets disabled (or not enabled) if there is no kwallet.

The basic cause and the wish for resolution is the same, though.
