So far, it appears my problems are with the Filtering subsystem, likely due to
the change in how KMail refers to folders internally. In KMail1, these were

and 4.8.0 means you're using kdelibs master which won't receive bug fixes
anymore since it's now frozen. you should switch to kdelibs 4.7 :)
