WORKSFORME with SVN/HEAD (4.4pre). No crashes, no matter how brutal I was.
Can't say anything about 4.3, but given that it was just released I assume it
works there, too.

specific one as fallback?

The window title says pinentry-qt. Didn't see any other password input

Yeap, that's exactly it; same thing here. I think the bug is the same, just the
way to trigger it has slightly changed from the fact that the dialog is now a
modal one...
