pre-down ip addr del a.b.c.d dev eth0
With other methods of network configuration, you’ll need to figure out how they
handle the same thing.

So I think easiest way to make it work is to reconfigure BIND with the 64 /24

And if there’s no dynamic clients at all, then you could delete the pool
section altogether. It’s a matter for you and the rest of the business to
determine if there’s a case for keeping a very small p

team that doesn’t like to co-operate for the benefit of the business. That’s
going to be a never ending source of “interesting times”.

networks with one or two relays on each, but the relay addresses are not part
of the client subnet ?
If it’s the latter, then this is a “very poor” network config and not compliant
with how things are supposed to work.
Some mo

normal lease lifecycle.
AIUI, reservations in Kea are more akin to leases marked reserved with dhcpd -
where the problem would be found.

Also, looking at

Is pfsense (I assume it’s doing your routing) running on this box or a
different one ? If it’s on a different box then all you’ll need to do is
configure the relay agent and remove the interface from the DHCP server. If
it’s on the same box, then things get a bit more “interesting”. Can y

As mentioned above, the ISC DHCP server has the same problem in the IPv4 world.

To unsubscri

single prefix on a link then you’ll find DHCP working more or less the same for
IPv6 as it did for IPv4 - except for support of more than one address being
allocated.
I have no intention of investing any more time in this thread unless you choose
to accept advice and be civ
ost cases) not very useful unless
the rest of the network knows how to reach that prefix. But even where there
isn’t any routing involved, you still need RAs to tell devices what prefix(es)
are available.

still to be written,
there is some stuff in there which you should find helpful. It’s written by
people who really do know IPv6 and have mostly been involved in it’s design
over the years.
