I can confirm the last kernel upgrade fixed the suspend problem for me in
my inspiron 1525. Functionality is not fully restored yet, since the
options I pick in the power settings panel are completely ignored (ie when
I choose "do nothing when the lid is closed" the computer still goes into
hiberna

I can use Ubuntu from the live disk as much as I want from the live
disk, but as soon as I have clicked "Next" in the window where I choose
whether I want to instal Ubuntu inside Windows or whatever, the computer
reboots. The same thing happens in Trusty and Saucy.

Looks like my laptop wasn't updated to 3.13.0-35.66, it was updated to
3.13.0.35.42. That is why I didn't see my RT2500 working when I
updated.
I tried to install .62, but my laptop is too old and doesn't support PAE
(Pentium M, so during installation of 14.04 I needed to use forcepae).
