this is indeed interesting.
Was it an official workaround? I would like to stay on 14.04 (since it
is LTS), does this patch will be released in one of next updates?
The wifi issue is really huge for me, it does not even connect with
EDUROAM (the international educational wifi network) and
I have exactly the same issue on my Macbook11,1 starting a couple of
weeks ago with Vivid. It does not seem to be a kernel issue and the /sys
brightness interfaces are present and working fine.

I am seeing same kind of behaviour after upgrade to utopic, mailq fails
with permission denied.
The odd thing is it doesn't happen every time. Sometimes when running
mailq in a loop it might work occasionally. Sometimes not. Sometimes
it works for period of time just fine and then starts

My system is different now. I ditched Windows 7 and have a single boot
