I was able to boot the system quenv over the bnx2x card and perform the
install normally, using the latest netboot images downloaded today (03/11).

I'm trying to set up an external firewire audio interface. The interface
(Presonus FP10) has been Reported to work with ffado (see
http://www.ffado.org/?q=devicesupport%2Flistfilter0=Presonusfilter1=op2=ORfilter2[]=**ALL**).

Ok, so this got fixed for i915_bdw in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1374389
but even the fixed kernel doesn't work on my Wilson Beach SDP, and the
commits in i915_bdw got reverted for 3.17 and up. Even drm-intel-next
(-4.1) doesn't work.
So I guess it's best to fix in

I have a Line6 UX1 external USB soundcard connected to my HP Pavillion dv7
laptop.
I've done a fresh install of Ubuntu Studio 13.04
Connecting the UX1 device works, and I can see in the volume mixer that
sound comes into the input of the card.
