Thanks for the help. I had kernel 3.16 and followed #258. Unfortunately
that did not work. This resulted in the same issues I already stated in
#236 for the 1.0 version.
However, now I fixed it by upgrading my kernel. You can do a save update via:
1) sudo apt-get install linux-generic-lts-vivid
I tested v3.13.11-ckt24-trusty and have updated to 3.13.0-61. This
problem remains.

windows-extracted firmware images on ath10k[1]. However, they still

I made a last attempt in following #261 as I experienced that Markus had
always the same problems as me. So I installed 'linux-generic-lts-vivid'
and now it works.
For me it is absolutely surprising that kernel 3.19 works whether 3.16
and 4.1.0 do not!

Sorry I misunderstood, I'm guessing if you go back to v3.16 it would be
fine? Perhaps something about the build is wrong at the checkout
preventing that.
There are two ways to try proceeding:
git bisect skip (trys to pick another commit) and see if it builds PPC64LE
checkout v3.18 or 3.17 and
