me. Not sure what is wrong. Any of the 4.X Series Kernels won't work for me.

With every kernel that includes commit 39a7a8 the controller will crash
Xpad when plugging it in. "Older" kernels will just not detect the
controller as a controller and Xpad just "ignores" it.

I've taken a bold guess in the title of this bug.
While investigating why on 14.04 LTS, I have working backlight on the
latest 3.13 kernel, but not on the 3.16, I tried acpi_backlight=vendor.
With default boot parameters, I just get
/sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/,
I just tried reinstalling the system to assure the problem is not caused by
successive update.
Unfortunately, that did not help either.

What worked for me was enabling the MSI parameter (message signal
interupt). I have a lenovo Z50 laptop. My wifi would work with all wifi
laptop manufacturers but i was having a problem with a Lancorm wifi
router at a Hotel I once stayed.
what i did was this. I scrowled to the file "sw.c" in the
Mainline kernel doesn't fix this issue - tested with the same boot flags, only
acpi_osi= is bringing backlight control back.
