Ubuntu 15.10 Crashing Frequently on EC2
It's very similar and i do sometimes experience the flickering as a
precursor to the complete crash, but mostly screen goes off and it just
crashes. Actually it freezes the whole PC. Keyboard is unresponsive. I
installed kdump, set soft, nmi etc. watches on but the PC does not
detect the crash and
I've recreated an instance from scratch with ami-c4140aa8.
Issue still happens, however less frequently - it happened 3 times during last
week.
I've proceeded with latest kernell update.
Installed 4.4.0-040400.
Will follow on results below.

manage to make the FN brightness keys work.

to 4.2.0-23, my laptop CPU runs continuously at 3GHz, and never slows
down to 800MHz, as it used to. This has reduced my battery life from 24
hours to 8 hours.
