I would be happy to try a mainline kernel, but I am getting this problem
when trying to install Ubuntu 16.04 daily from a live install DVD. So
is there any way to get a mainline kernel into the live DVD, so I can
run it from there? Alternatively, I can reinstall Ubuntu 15.10 and try

Looks like the kernel got some fixes and the rules for change_profile
matching unconfined that we had for the launcher no longer work. Those
rules seem like they weren't doing what we wanted anyway, so update
them.

It appears that the profile name can't start with 'u'. If I change the
app-profile to prepend anything other than 'u', then it works.
Eg, if I update app-profile accordingly before each call to change the profile
name:
$ sudo apparmor_parser -r ./app-profile ./launcher-profile && aa-exec -p
While I haven't been able to set up another Ubuntu installation just
yet, I did need to reinstall something for production and updated to
Ubuntu 16.04 (Dev branch) x64 and I confirm that the bug is still there
(same machine as in the original problem report).

I tested CentOS 7 with LIS 4.1 over the weekend, and it also did not
exhibit the bug. This might indicate a regression introduced after the

Said kernel appears to be good. The reshuffling of windows does not
occur (and I get two displays!!) In the worst case, I'd recommend
shipping xenial with 237ed86c reverted, if they can't get a fixed

Yes, it worked till a couple of weeks ago (not sure about which kernel
it was), now all the kernels that are in my grub exhibit the same
behavior including the Mainline (v4.5 Wily)
