I have a little more information which I hope can help to pin down the
source of this problem.
I turned off 'repeat keys' in the keyboard settings, so that no key
repeats when pressed down. This is a nuisance for arrow keys, but is an
improvement.
I now get single 5's rather than repeated string
Same problem with Logetech K520 with spontaneous 5's. Fresh install of
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

While in new installation of 16.04, I did what Joseph suggested, installed
upstream 4.6.

- Mouse pointer not visible after resume. Need to Ctrl+Alt+F1 and the

The touchpad of my laptop sometimes doesn't work at all (from boot to
halt). I am unable to determine when exactly this happens. The touchpad
worked correctly on the live CD version of Ubuntu. My external USB mouse
works correctly.

After install xserver-xorg-video-intel and relogin LO Calc works ok. If

It'd be helpful if this memory corruption regression could be
accelerated. It means that unplugging a USB3 device can mess up the
memory enough that file lookups that happen afterwards break if apparmor
is enabled - just because the allocation size is similar by chance. The

I have now installed the kernel image on a server which previously
experienced MySQL crashes every 1 to 2 hours. The server uses MySQL for
an Icinga2 monitoring database (so it's frequently writing) and is
configured to create btrfs snapshots every 5 minutes.
