Hi Tim,
Am I correct in saying that the patch is in the ubuntu-xenial (16.04)
kernel git repository? If so, can you let us know when it shows up in

Indeed we did get a "proper" timeout now \o/

/autopkgtest-yakkety/yakkety/amd64/l/linux/20161018_180219_53396@/log.gz
So closing this one, and using bug 1634519 for the new timeout.

I'll restart the bisect using the last good and bad test commits:
good abebcdfb64f1b39eeeb14282d9cd4aad1ed86f8d
bad bef2c7bd578e91c9c10983e0c15c4501127b77ca
Can you also give the v4.9-rc1 kernel a try? It can be downloaded from:

Public bug reported:
Many system supports hybrid graphics and its discrete VGA does not have
any connectors and therefore has no _DOD method. However, kernel
assumes the control method, _DOD, is required. As a result, an
exception is thrown incorrectly.

I built a test kernel with the proposed patch from upstream. The test kernel
can be downloaded from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~jsalisbury/lp1627108/upstream/
Can you test this kernel and see if it resolves this bug?
