They are different, on Dell laptop, the audio jack can detect the
headphone plug/unplug, this is the pre-condition for fixing the headset-
mic problem.
But on your Asus laptop, the audio jack can't detect any plug/unplug, so
even apply the same fix to this machine it will not work.

I apologize for the delayed response, I was travelling.
Yes, the error message is the same as for the original report. Then it
was triggered by a call to lsattr, now by calling btrfs to create a
snapshot. The released kernels do not have the originally reported
problem with lsattr but regressed
I wrote 2 short scripts for replacing the drivers after new installation or
kernel upgrades:
The first rtl8723be_install.sh is for download and installation of an
alternative driver after a new installation, the second rtl8723be_reinstall.sh
for re-installation after a kernel upgrade.

It affects 16.04 and 14.04.5 with kernel 4.4.0-45 and is related to the

I can now use scroll on touch screen and pinch zoom also works but only in

Same problem here. Using triple screen (laptop + 2 external monitors) on
a Lenovo ThinkPad t460s.
Monitor on display port is turning black for 2-5 seconds on cursor
movement or focus changes with alt+tab.
OS: Ubuntu 16.10 amd64
Kernel: 4.8.0-26
CPU: Intel Core i7-6600U
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 520
