testing the Quiet Comfort 15s:
Bose CQ 15 w/ normal cable - The hiss is present with 0 dB headphone mic
gain, but far more reduced than the Sony earbuds. It is almost
unnoticeable. If I weren't trying to hear it, I'd miss it.

I am not sure what's with this "SQUASHFS error" problem. Here's my experience
with it:
I downloaded Ubuntu 17.04 Desktop and installed it. The "SQUASHFS error"
appeared on reboot.
I (re)downloaded the ISO and verified the hash, reinstalled and rebooted; same
problem appeared.
I downloaded Ubuntu

I think the problems can be worked around by the attached code by adding
it to post-installation scripts such as apt-auto-removal, unattended-
upgrades, update-notifier, zz-update-grub, but not in initramfs-tools or
dkms.
