4.4.0-103-generic #126-Ubuntu:

I don't get this problem with 4.4.0-101-generic #124-Ubuntu. I'm working

Computer will still not boot normally - and still has error on power

fargoth's. But then I ran 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' while on TTY and it
finished the installation. I did have to reboot 3 times before I could
get to TTY, for some reason...

I've encountered the same problem, but your fix does not work for me.
When trying to autoinstall the ubuntu-drivers I get:
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure
-a' to correct the problem.
But the dpkg command just hangs on:

I changed status to fix released. I'd close it but I can't see how to.
