you have to do is to install old kernel 3.19 in Ubuntu and boot from
it(after clean shut-down). Because ubuntu r3290 pci had worked perfectly

I didn't try anything in between, I went from 4.13.0-16 to -36 and -36
started wigging out again so I backed down to -16. I can try some

Here is the patch to fix the kernel crash on aes_s390 kernel module removal.
Please note that this patch is as of now not upstream available but in the s390
Xenial does not have 83e3c48729d9ebb7af5a31a504f3fd6aff0348c4. Though,
linux-hwe 4.13 has been shipped for Xenial. So, on the kernel side,
there is nothing to fix on our 4.4 kernels, but on the makedumpfile
side, that still needs to be fixed if we want to have some of those
kernels dumpable.
