Thanks to Alberto I can confirm the nvidia-384 (nvidia-graphics-
drivers-384 - 384.130-0ubuntu0.16.04.2~ppa1 ) from the nvidia-driver-
staging ppa works on the customer image.
But we still have other dkms modules that still cannot be built
properly. The new kernel can't be then installed.

I've managed to verify this on kernel 4.4.0-143-generic, the problem
isn't reproducible anymore.
Worth noticing that when using the kernel 4.4.0-143 in both host and
guest, we cannot change MSR bit anymore from within the guest, so the

Having the same problem on Windows Server 2012 (build 9200) Hyper-V with
linux kernel versions 4.15.0-44 and 4.15.0-45. Last known working kernel
version 4.15.0-43. Attached is a screenshot of kernel panic stack trace.
