My external USB drives get disconnected randomly.
Setting "XHCI Hand-off" in BIOS to Disabled *SOLVED* this problem for me.
It seems kernel/Ubuntu fails to handle USB properly when given control over it
by BIOS.

I got the same bug.
If hciuart.service was started before /dev/serial1 is created, it fails.
Fixed by adding systemd override with "Requires" directive:

After spending some time I think I have narrowed down the bug fix to
Linux kernel 5.10-rc6.
The bug reproed on Ubuntu with kernel 5.10-rc4 but not on 5.10-rc6.

Upgraded Ubuntu to 22.04 LTS. Same behavior. Sometimes it turns on the

I have replicated the issue. Whilst logged into kernel 5.13.0-40-generic I
removed power cable for a minute or so, re-inserted power cable and my battery
indicator showed 96% and not charging.
Restarted machine logging into kernel 5.13.0-39-generic and the battery
