I will add that this new ASM1064 SATA card is a 4-port SATA controller
that does not use any additional JMicron chip as a port multiplier (like
a JBM575). My original JMicron card was only a two port model, so why it
needed a port multiplier is beyond me. Basically, what all this means is
avoid
My workaround for this problem was to eject the JMicron SATA controller
from the chassis and replace it with one that uses an ASM1064 controller
instead.

The additional kernel parameter did not help.
The additional driver (without using the additional kernel parameter)
worked fine -- at least through 1 boot. The driver I installed:
NVIDIA driver metapackage from nvidia-driver-515 (proprietary, tested).

This is for package linux-source-5.15.0. I could not select that in the
report-a-bug web interface thus selected 'linux'.
During a manual kernel compile's install phase
(make install) the install.sh script told me that it 'Cannot find LILO'.
After some research it turns out

i915 drivers
I'm using Lubuntu Kinetic (22.10), what is the default browser, where is
this defined?
I have Firefox, Chromium and Opera, looking into the settings of all of
them, none seems to be set as default web browser.
Shall I choose Firefox and click 'Make Default...'?
