With Kinetic we are trying to bring support for the PolarFire Icicle Kit which
was missing in Jammy.
Without PCI this support would be incomplete.
The patches don't touch any code relevant for other boards. As the board
has not been previously supported there is not risk of regression.

This is obviously based on 3.17, BUT has a lot of commits on top (until date
20220202 and commit b40982e).
So I looked up both commits manually (that's why I don't like packages b

affected kernel version sits. For 5.15 kernels this is 22.04/Jammy. On
AWS the custom kernels used, roll. So it is a 5.15 based kernel. 5.4
would be the native Focal kernel. But that is not affected. So this

Ubuntu server 22.04.1 is having issues freezing repeatedly with CPU
softlocking. The issue seems to have started in the last week, all
packages are up to date. I've updated to hwe kernel, rebooted several
times, and it still happens. Hw info: 32G

Taking a look at the linked bug (I forgot to mention that plymouth
failed to start as well):
I blacklisted hyperv_fb and explicitly load hyperv_drm in /etc/modules
I also added hyperv_drm into /etc/initramfs-tools/modules.
This fixed both plymouth and the login screen came back as well.

I had tried quite a few reboots but the problem didn't (appear to) go
