[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1873384] Re: [Dell Inspiron 5577] Headphone has no sound out

2020-04-28 Thread
@Cruz Fernandez In my laptop the 'headset' mode makes the headset totally unavailable, both the speaker and mic. The 'headphone' mode is okay with headset speaker and laptop internal mic. And I do think that there should be the same POPUP-DIALOG for user to choose in KDE and Xfce4 environment.

@Hui Wang My problem is different from the comment you provided, LOL. 1. I'm using Kubuntu. Kubuntu DOESN'T HAVE the POPUP-DIALOG because KDE environment uses PulseAudio to manage audio system. When a user plug in a headset there are no options to choose from, the program sets it automatically.

Update: I find out that in PulseAudio Panel the settings of input device should be choose as 'Internal Microphone' rather than 'Headset Microphone' or 'Microphone', and the speakers of my headset can work properly. My laptop's 1 jack hole connection and headset can work properly on Windows,

@Hui Wang No pop-dialogue. When headphone plug-in, it switched to headphone from speakers automatically. It can be confirmed in PulseAudio Control Panel. In 18.04 it work without any problem. @CarpalCarpal I have KDE and Xfce4 desktop environment on my system, both of them have the problem ,
