Finally latest kernel accepted the bump up timeout value to fixed the issue.
s0ix can be supported again.

I tested it with fresh install 20.04, then install nvidia-driver-440.64.
Then everything works fine.
Usually no need to use custom conf by nvidia-xconfig.
But prime-select nvidia is a must.

GPU is hybrid, BIOS can't be shown on external monitor.

Tried the steps to boot with LID close.
found that LID close until the BIOS logo show, unless the laptop will shut down.
Then all work good. GDM shows on external monitor.
Test with typec/HDMI/thunderbolt-dock-typc external monitor, thunderbolt dock
is always connected.
BIOS should be default
Error in log:
nvidia-settings-autostart.desktop[2939]: ERROR: NVIDIA driver is not loaded
nvidia-drivers-440 should be installed to support external display
output.

Could you try the latest intel wifi firmwire[1] ? Copy to /lib/firmware/
and reboot.
And try lastest kernel[2].

It is a known issue of NOUVEAU.
Please use "safe graphics" to boot and install Ubuntu on usb disk.
After installation, please add "nouveau.modeset=0" in kernel cmdline if you
still have issues.
Then install nvidia-driver-440, graphics and HDMI will be good.

The keyboard and touchpad is controlled by BIOS/EC not in kernel drivers.
KB/Touchpad should be disabled when you flap it to tablet mode.
Looks like it is a hw relevant issue.
Could you try Windows10? if it is not disabled on Windows10, please contact
Lenovo for warranty.
